Royale Godfrey is a past youth member on Peel Children’s Aid Board of Directors. As a former Crown Ward, Royale brought valuable insights and unique perspectives to Peel Children’s Aid Board of Directors and Senior Management Team for two years.

For the past 10 years, Royale has cheerfully volunteered with Peel Children’s Aid at speaking engagements such as Joint Recognition, agency workshops, and Black History month. She actively collaborates with OECT to develop and execute action plans to promote Post-Secondary education and leadership to youth in care and formerly involved with Peel Children’s Aid. 
She also attends monthly Youth Council meetings as a mentor to youth and continues to be a role model for children and youth involved with Peel Children’s Aid.  Royale works fulltime as a Project Manager at Bank of Montreal and holds a University degree from York University in Human Resources and a Business Administration Diploma from Sheridan College. Royale is also volunteer lead with the Crown Ward Education Championship Team (CWECT)youth advisory in Peel. With CWECT, she helps coordinate events and activities that link self-responsibility, youth engagement, and skills development for young people. In addition, she facilitates various College and University tours within Ontario, to help encourage youth to participate in post-secondary studies after high school graduation.

​Ghada Melek is a married mother of two who has been a resident of Mississauga for the past 20 years.  With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Windsor and over 17 years in the private sector, Ghada has built a career to be proud of. Today, as a Senior Manager with Deloitte, she provides consulting services to Canadian businesses across the manufacturing, commodities and energy sectors. 
 
In 2014, she ran for Councillor in the Mississauga municipal elections to inspire women and young people to get involved in shaping the civic discourse. In 2016, she joined the Streetsville Rotary Club, which gave her the opportunity to support numerous charities and community projects such as: 
​the Credit Valley Hospital, Armagh House, Erin Oak Kids, Mississauga Foodbank, and the Easter Seals Kids. Ghada is known within her circles as a connector and an enabler, and this is why she has successfully been serving on the PC Women-in-Politics executive for the past 4 years as the VP of the GTA to increase women's engagement in Canadian politics. Ghada was awarded the 2019 Arab Woman of Excellence award and the 2017 Distinguished Mother Award for her role in breaking barriers and showing leadership to other immigrant women.

Dwania Peele is the Owner and Executive Director of Canadian Small Business Women.  A lover of entrepreneurship, volunteering and networking, Dwania strives to inspire aspiring and current entrepreneurs in Canada. A Chemist and Political Science major by training and education, but an entrepreneur at heart, Dwania has started 2 successful businesses since 2008.  In 2013, Canadian Small Business Women began serving as a platform for aspiring and current small business women of Canada. Through e-courses, blogs, online chats, Seminars and Expos, CSBW provides avenues for entrepreneurs to showcase their expertise. 

​Dwania continues to make an impact by appearing as a guest speaker at various entrepreneur events and engages in guest appearances on Panels across the GTA to provide valuable insight to those in need. 
​As a woman working in the STEM field, Dwania plays a powerful role in changing young girl’s views about their STEM intelligence. Dwania is an amazing role model and continues to take hands on approaches in sharing her expertise, encourages educators to adopt new strategies to engage girls, and counteracts stereotypes and misconceptions.

Amy Delisle is the Managing Partner at Keyser Mason Ball LLP and leads the firm’s Franchising, Retail & Distribution Group.Amy lifts and empowers women through her capacity as the first female and youngest Managing Partner at KMB Law, one of the largest full service law firms in Peel. Amy has mentored female lawyers throughout different aspects of her career and works tirelessly to fight for hiring standards that are equal and fair. KMB law is a 60 person team, of which 71% are female.
 
Amy is very cognizant of challenges that impact women and children. Throughout her career at KMB Law, Amy has raised funds internally for Peel Children’s Aid Foundation and initiated a fundraising campaign which consisted of 7 events held over the course of 4 weeks to raise money for women’s health services and research. 
​Amy consistently works to provide a healthy and positive environment for all of those around her. Amy is currently a board member with the Mississauga Board of Trade, The Living Arts Centre and the Canadian Franchise Association.

​Maria Esteves has held positions in the banking, medical, governmental and entrepreneurial fields prior to being diagnosed with Lupus Erythematosus 41 years ago.
For the past 34 years, Maria has been involved in a great number of volunteer efforts by implementing, organizing, and promoting the following events:
​Adopt-a-family program, toy drives, Walk-a-Thon of Hope, Portrait of a Teenager, Spaghetti Night Out, and Murder Mystery Night just to name a few.
 
As the Founder and President of Breakfast with Santa Foundation for 31 years, Maria makes it her mission to positively impact the lives of vulnerable children living in the Mississauga community. Under Maria’s leadership The Breakfast with Santa Foundation has provided over 265,750 meals and served 27,000  vulnerable children. As well as the Foundation has donated over 630 coats and 910 backpacks filled with school supplies. Maria continues to inspire women and girls by providing hope and much-needed programs to enhance the quality of life for at-risk children and youth. 

AWARD RECOGNITION PROGRAM

Fierce & Fabulous Recognition Program acknowledges and celebrates women who demonstrate exceptional leadership in working to empower other women and inspire children and youth.

Guidelines
All nominations are evaluated using the same scoring criteria. A maximum of 3 finalists per category will be selected. One award winner per category will be chosen. All nominees will be recognized at Fierce and Fabulous. Finalists and award winners will be called to the stage for a photo op. Award winners will also have a two minute speaking opportunity.

How To Be A Fierce & Fabulous Woman
  • Actively encourage other women to be powerful mentors and allies to other women in the workplace
  • Support girls and women in crisis
  • Inspire children to take part in shaping the future
  • Understand the importance of social change
  • Help a new mom
  • Invest in women entrepreneurs
  • Compliment girls and women closest to you
  • Promote equality, diversity, healthy equal relationships
  • Teach children to succeed and be committed
  • Prevent violence against women and girls
  • Advocate and raise funds for children, youth, and families
  • Act as a positive role model by mentoring, coaching, leading events or organizations
  • Contribute to sustainable development, including health and the welfare of society
The Awards & Nominations Criteria
  • Nominees must be women over the age of 18
  • Previous award winners are not allowed to be nominated
  • One nomination per nominee is required
  • Nominees must be residents or an employee in the Region of Peel
  • Self-nominations and letters of support from family members are not accepted
  • Applications may be submitted by a community leader, mentor, employer, or another individual who has experience volunteering with the nominee

Peel Children’s Aid Foundation, a leading charity in support of at-risk children and youth in Peel Region, is pleased to invite you to Fierce and Fabulous: An event dedicated to educating and inspiring women in the GTA to be #FIERCE and #FABULOUS for vulnerable children and youth. Held at the beautiful Mississauga Convention Centre, the evening will provide women with a relaxing, exciting environment celebrating fantastic food, drink, and live entertainment.

Celebrating its fifth year, Industry leaders in collaboration with Peel Children’s Aid Foundation will work together to raise funds to help foster children and youth under the care or supervision of Peel Children’s Aid to follow their dreams and work towards a healthy, happy, and prosperous future.

What Does Fierce and Fabulous Do For the Community?
Fierce and Fabulous gives female supporters the opportunity to come together with other influential women in the community to stand tall for children and youth. From the outside, Peel Region appears to be recovering slowly from the recession. But from within poverty levels are growing at a staggering rate with more than 66,000 children and youth living in poverty.

Where Do the Funds Go?
Funds raised from this event will be used to help the prevention of neglect and abuse, promote health and wellness, and provide enrichment opportunities for all children under the care or supervision of Peel Children’s Aid. Other opportunities include:
